Cardiff Labour's ridiculous 'tree' starts peeling

Cardiff Labour's Christmas 'tree' has already come under criticism for being 90ft smaller than they claimed, costing a whopping £30,000 and not being an actual tree.

But now Cardiff Liberal Democrats have revealed that the coating of the plastic baubles on the tree have started peeling away.

Cllr Elizabeth Clark, Lib Dem councillor for Cardiff city centre, said:

"The fact that parts of this already ridiculous tree are now breaking and peeling away is beyond belief. Cardiff is meant to have this for the next three years, yet it can't even last three weeks.

"It might look like cheap tat, but in reality it's very expensive tat. The growing number sleeping rough in its shadow this Christmas will be wondering where their help and support is while £30,000 is being spent on ridiculous things like this tree.

"This saga is just another example of Labour's disastrous time in charge of our capital city. As the only credible opposition to Labour's failing administration, Liberal Democrats stand ready to take Cardiff forward next May."
