The Gabalfa Focus Team spent much of the weekend speaking with residents around Clodien Avenue about proposals for an off-licence at the former Arjans sandwich shop.

Cllr. Ed Bridges said: "An application for an alcohol licence has been submitted to for the premises at 147 Clodien Avenue. The application would see the premises licensed to sell alcohol for off-sales between 7am and 9pm Monday-Saturday, and 8am-8pm on Sundays."

Any residents who would like to make comments - either for or against the application - should send them in writing to the Licensing Section, City Hall, Cardiff, CF10 3ND or by e-mail to licensing@cardiff.gov.uk quoting reference number CCCP/01648- the deadline for comments is 9th March.

Local campaigner, Gareth Holden, added: "Inevitably, with an application like this there will be some people in favour and some against. However, we hope that by speaking with local residents and making everyone aware of the application, we can ensure that everyone gets to have their say."

If you are sending in comments, be sure to copy in the Focus Team so they can reinforce the views of the local community when the application is formally considered next month.
