CLIMATE TALKS ON A KNIFE EDGE

Commenting on the suspension of negotiations earlier today at the UN climate summit, Jenny Willott, Welsh Liberal Democrat MP for Cardiff Central, said:

"The walkout shows that tempers are running high and the negotiations are balancing on a knife edge. But we cannot afford to allow these talks to fail.

"Politicians must remember that the cost of putting off action now will be a much higher price to pay in the future.

"The UK and other countries responsible for most of the world's emissions have to lead the way in getting these talks back on track and drive forward a new global climate deal."
