Jenny Willott, MP for Cardiff Central, has backed the No More Page 3 campaign, signing a petition calling on the editor of The Sun newspaper, Dominic Mohan, to drop page 3.

Commenting, Jenny Willott MP said; "I don't want to see pictures of semi-naked women in daily newspapers. I don't think it has any place in 21st century society and I would like to see all newspapers get rid of such images.

"I think it is particularly damaging to young girls, who are growing up with a warped view of what society thinks of women. We only need to look at the increasing evidence of anorexia, bulimia and other medical conditions, as well as the work done by Gok Wan and the Campaign for Body Confidence, to know that something is wrong with society's attitude towards women and their appearance.

"Publications which purport to be family newspapers should not be displaying such images of women; they are degrading and send the message that women can only be valued for their appearances."
