Jenny Willott MP backs Cardiff Food Bank in bid for Comic Relief funding

Jenny Willott supports Fare ShareJenny Willott, MP for Cardiff Central, has backed the Cardiff Food Bank in its bid to receive extra funding thanks to Comic Relief and Netmums.

The food bank has the opportunity to boost £10,000 worth of funding into £80,000. You can vote for Cardiff Food Bank by following this link.

Ian, Project Manager at the food bank, said, "Cardiff Foodbank collects, sorts and stores food donated by individuals, schools, businesses and churches and distributes food parcels to clients at its distribution centres."

"With help from Red Nose Day cash through Netmums, the project will be able to expand its warehousing and distribution services to meet the increasing demand of families, children and individuals from across the city who are in need of emergency food."

Jenny Willott MP said, "Food poverty in the UK is a very significant issue which is often neglected, both by the media and by society more broadly, as we focus on the poor in developing countries.

"Sadly hundreds of people across Cardiff are finding it impossible to make ends meet."
