The latest unemployment figures, released today, show that unemployment in Cardiff Central has fallen for the fourth month in a row. Unemployment in the constituency is now 11% lower than it was a year ago.

Cardiff Central MP Jenny Willott has welcomed the figures, saying:

"Every single fall in unemployment means a real difference in the life of an individual and is to be welcomed. Liberal Democrats in Government are working to build a stronger economy and a fairer society in which good quality job opportunities are available for all, so I am really pleased to see this work is starting to pay off.

"However, unemployment in Wales is still significantly higher than in much of the rest of the country and clearly there is much more to be done. I want to see better cross-border co-ordination between the Welsh and the UK Governments to ensure Wales gets the support it deserves to get people back to work and earning a decent wage."
