Jenny Willott, Liberal Democrat MP for Cardiff Central, is supporting the Grow Your Tenner campaign which is being launched on 15th October with support from the Cabinet Office. LocalGiving.com, a fundraising website for small, local charities and community groups, will run a match-funding initiative to turn £500,000 from the Cabinet Office into over £1.2 million for grass roots charities across the UK.

Through 'Grow Your Tenner', eligible charities will see donations up to £10 doubled and monthly donations doubled up to £10 a month for six months.

Commenting, Jenny Willott said:

"The model used by LocalGiving.com for online donations is fast becoming an essential part of how small groups fundraise, and has proven to be an extremely effective way of increasing donations.

"From 15th October, local charities and community groups can get double donations thanks to the Grow Your Tenner campaign. This is a fantastic opportunity to recognise the great work small charities do in Wales and the difference that they, and the donations given to them, make."
