Jenny Willott, Liberal Democrat MP for Cardiff Central, has been elected as an Honorary President of the British Youth Council (BYC), the independent charity run for and by young people to champion their views.

Honorary Presidency is an annual honour that young people within the British Youth Council membership choose to give to parliamentarians whom they feel have advocated for young people within the House of Commons.

Commenting, Jenny Willott MP said:

"I am delighted and honoured to have been awarded this position. The British Youth Council does excellent work helping young people to get involved in their communities and in the democratic process. It is vitally important that their voices are heard, and I know that BYC is instrumental in ensuring that this is the case. I'm very much looking forward to continuing to work with BYC to empower young people to share their invaluable perspectives."
