ProfileJenny Willott, the Liberal Democrat MP for Cardiff Central has welcomed the news that the number of unemployed claimants in Cardiff Central in October is 597 lower than this time last year and 86 lower than in September 2014.

The latest unemployment figures from the Office for National Statistics show that across the UK unemployment fell by 115,000 between July and September, so there are now 1.96million people unemployed.

The figures show that unemployment has fallen to 6%, and pay, excluding bonuses was 1.3% higher than a year earlier.

Commenting, Jenny Willott MP, said:

"One of the Lib Dems' key aims in government is to help people into work so they can get on in life. In Cardiff Central for a few months now we've seen fewer people without work and again this month shows how the economy is continuing to recover. Wages are now growing and as more people find work they will hopefully see their incomes rise and more money in their pockets."
