Jenny Willott, the Liberal Democrat MP, for Cardiff Central is supporting the work of local solicitors and encouraging residents to take part in Will Aid this November.

Will Aid is a special partnership between solicitors and nine UK charities, which include ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF and Trocaire.

Every November solicitors who sign up to the Will Aid initiative waive their fee for writing a basic Will and instead invite their customers to donate the fee they would normally charge to Will Aid.

Since starting in 1988, Will Aid has enabled legal firms to raise over £15 million for charities in the UK and last year the scheme raised over £2 million. The campaign has helped 275,000 people to write their Will.

Commenting, Jenny Willott MP, said:

"This is a fantastic chance for local residents to obtain an affordable Will and also raise money for those in need across the UK and around the world. I congratulate those local firms taking part and I urge local residents to take advantage of this scheme to ensure that their loved ones are protected and the work being done by charities is supported."
