Jenny Willott MP appointed to Privy Council

Jenny Willott MPJenny Willott, the Liberal Democrat MP for Cardiff Central, has been appointed by Her Majesty The Queen to the Most Honourable Privy Council.

Jenny joins fellow Liberal Democrat and Transport Minister, Baroness Susan Kramer, in receiving this honour.

Commenting, Jenny Willott MP, said:

"It is an honour and a privilege to have been appointed to the Privy Council by Her Majesty the Queen.

"I am immensely proud of the work I have done both in my constituency of Cardiff Central and in Government over the last 9 years. Serving both as Business Minister and a Government Whip has given me a unique insight into the workings of Government and I feel very privileged to have been the first female Liberal Democrat minister and the first female Welsh MP ever to attend Cabinet.

"I am delighted by this honour today."
