No to Cardiff Met Expansion

Cardiff Metropolitan University have shocked residents by submitting two controversial planning applications to build a sports hall and halls of residence.

In June, Cardiff Met launched a consultation and held an open day. Residents from Llanedeyrn, Penylan and Cyncoed attended and vocally presented their objections to the 7 storey, 518 bedroom development that will tower over houses on the Penylan and Llanedeyrn sides.

This development would cause noise and light pollution, undermine historic woodlands, and cause parking chaos.

It was expected that the university would try to answer some of the concerns by shrinking the development and possibly introducing some parking, but instead they have pressed ahead with this development and a new sports centre.

Cardiff Liberal Democrats are opposing this huge over-development. Please sign the petition:

I am opposed to Cardiff Metropolitan University’s plans to build a 7 storey halls of residence and new sports hall. I call upon Cardiff Council’s planning committee to reject the plans.
