Born in Pontypridd, Rhys attended Ysgol Gyfun Rhydfelen before going on to Bangor University to study before returning to Cardiff. Rhys lives in Gabalfa and was elected to represent the ward in Cardiff North in May 2017.
He has led campaigns to improve standards in the Private Rented Sector, investment in sexual health and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, and concessionary fares for young people. Rhys now works in the homelessness sector in Wales.
As Member of the Senedd for Cardiff North, Rhys will work to give everyone hope that the future can be better. Rhys will campaign to tackle the climate crisis by protecting green spaces and tackling congestion, campaign for more affordable and social housing, and work to ensure that our schools are supported to give our children the best start in life.
