Jenny Willott MP at the MP Capability Assessment in Westminster with a Rethink campaigner.Jenny Willott, the Liberal Democrat MP for Cardiff Central, is supporting Time to Talk Day - the national day where everyone is asked to take five minutes to have a conversation with friends and family about mental health.

The Liberal Democrats believe that mental health should never be ignored or stigmatised and are committed to improving mental health services in the UK.

The Party's pre-manifesto for the May 2015 General Election places improving mental health services at the heart and focusses on providing equal rights for mental health patients in England to get treated just as fast as people with physical health problems.

Commenting, Jenny Willott MP, said:

"It's time that mental health was taken as seriously as physical health and the Liberal Democrats are the only party championing mental health across the UK.

"Research shows that one in four people will suffer from mental health problems at some point in their lives, but there is still stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health and this is wrong.

"Time to Talk Day is a great way to help tackle the stigma by talking about mental health and not ignoring the issue. This can be done online, over the phone or face to face and I really hope local residents in Cardiff Central will take the time to talk about mental health today."
