Richard Jerrett chosen as Lib Dem candidate for Ely by-election

Richard grew up in Ely and is demanding better for our area

Local man Richard Jerrett has been chosen as your Liberal Democrat candidate for the Ely by-election on February 21st, following the sad death of Councillor Jim Murphy.

Richard grew up in Ely and Caerau. A former resident of Parker Place, he attended the local Hywel Dda, Trelai Primary and Glyn Derw High schools.

As the former captain of the Cardiff West End Bowling Club, before the Labour Council closed its home at Trelai Park in 2014,
Richard knows how much Ely has been neglected by Labour councillors.

Having spent eight years as a Cardiff Councillor, Richard Jerrett knows how to fight for the residents of Ely and Michaelston.

“Our community is becoming a fly-tipping hotspot,” said Richard. “Homes around Ely are left empty for years. Graffiti is left up for
months. Our roads and pavements are in a sorry state.

“I’m standing in this election to demand better for the community I grew up in.

“Local people only ever see or hear from a Labour councillor when they need your vote. If elected, I promise to be active in our community and keep in touch with residents all year round.”
