Restoration work on Cardiff's famous Animal Wall has finished. The damaged stone work of the wall was carefully cleaned, repaired and conserved. There are 15 different animals. Nine are originals from the 1890s, and six were commissioned between 1925 and 1930.
During the repair, the anteater's missing nose got replaced as well as the missing glass eyes in the nine original animals. Graffiti will also be cleaned off the back of the wall.
Lib Dem Councillor Elizabeth Clark said, "The historic Animal Wall is well known to Cardiff and attracts thousands of visitors to the city each year.
"It is wonderful that the project has allowed our much loved landmark to be restored. I'm pleased that Cardiff Council is supported by both the Heritage Lottery Fund and Cadw on this scheme".
