Waste issues on Laytonia Avenue

Ashley Wood, Rhys Taylor and the local Liberal Democrats are calling on Cardiff Council to take action to deal with the long-standing issues with waste on Laytonia Avenue.

Residents will be familiar with the problems with waste around the collection points near the junction with North Road. Too often rubbish is put out on the wrong days, is contaminated or not collected. This waste is often left for days on end with the bags ripped open by animals contaminating the local environment with litter and rotting food. Despite residents and councillors regularly reporting these issues and the council undertaking both education and enforcement actions, the situation has persisted for years. We are therefore calling on Cardiff Council to take concerted action, including to consider moving the collection points for North Road properties from Laytonia Avenue, to deal with this unacceptable situation.

We, the undersigned, call on Cardiff Council to deal with the persistent waste issues around the Laytonia Avenue junction with North Road and reduce the environmental contamination of the street. To this end, we ask that the waste collection points for North Road flats are moved from Laytonia Avenue to North Road or another suitable location.
