Residents across Pentwyn and Llanedeyrn have been concerned to learn that Pentwyn Leisure Centre will not be able to open at the same time as other leisure centres run by Better across Cardiff because it is still being used by Cardiff Blues rugby team as their training facility.
We understand and support the need for Cardiff Blues to have somewhere to train while their regular training facilities at the Principality Stadium are not available because the stadium is being used to host the Dragon’s Heart field hospital. We recognise that this hospital may well be needed if there is a second peak of Covid-19 later in the year.
We have therefore launched a petition calling on Cardiff Council and Cardiff Blues to work together to find an alternative site where the team might be able to train so that the community in Pentwyn and Llanedeyrn can once again have access to their local leisure centre.
If you support this campaign, please sign our petition below.
I/we, the undersigned, call on Cardiff Council and the Cardiff Blues rugby team to work together to find an alternative site where the team can train so that Pentwyn Leisure Centre is able to open once again for the local community to use.
