Save Free TV Licenses

Liberal Democrats in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan are campaigning to keep free TV licenses for many over 75s.

The UK Conservative Government has scrapped free TV licences from 1st August, which will impact on 13,430 older residents in Cardiff and 7,710 older residents in the Vale of Glamorgan.

During the pandemic, the TV has been a lifeline for many elderly residents who’ve taken the government’s advice and stayed at home.

We call on the UK Government to reinstate the free TV licences for the over 75s.
