Every year there are a number families applying for a place at Ysgol Mynydd Bychan unable to secure a place for their children. This year 22 families were refused a place. Of those 22, there were 15 children who live in the school’s catchment area.

This year, the last allocated place was to someone living 0.584 miles (within catchment) away from the school.

In 2018 Cardiff Council was awarded £3.85m in capital funding to deal with capacity challenges in the Welsh medium sector. We want to work with our community and the council to identify and bring forward solutions that work for our community.

We, the undersigned, call on Cardiff Council to bring forward plans for the community in preparation for September 2021 that meet the demand for Welsh medium education in our community.

Bob blwyddyn mae mwy a mwy o deuluoedd sy'n gwneud cais am le yn Ysgol Mynydd Bychan wedi methu sicrhau lle i'w plant.

Eleni, gwrthodwyd lle i 22 o deuluoedd. O'r 22, roedd 15 o blant yn byw yn nalgylch yr ysgol. Eleni, y lle olaf a ddyrannwyd oedd i rywun sy'n byw 0.584 milltir (o fewn dalgylch) o'r ysgol.

Yn 2018 dyfarnwyd £3.85 miliwn o gyllid cyfalaf i Gyngor Caerdydd i ymdrin â heriau capasiti yn y sector cyfrwng Cymraeg.

Rydym ni, sydd wedi llofnodi isod, yn galw ar Gyngor Caerdydd i gyflwyno cynlluniau i baratoi ar gyfer mis Medi 2021 sy'n bodloni'r galw am addysg cyfrwng Cymraeg yn ein cymuned.
