Fly tipping

Clean Up Cardiff

The Cardiff Lib Dems are calling on the council to take action to clean up our dirty streets.

Fly tipping dumped in our woods, litter on our streets, litter bins overflowing and roads not swept leave Cardiff looking dirty and neglected. Labour are spending millions on the Arena and a new county hall, but residents can't get fly tipping removed.

The current council leadership have got their priorities all wrong. We are paying more and more council tax, yet it feels like the streets get dirtier and and dirtier.

The Lib Dems have launched a three point plan to clean up Cardiff, and are asking residents to sign our petition calling on the council to act.

1. Community sweepers, litter bins and fly tipping

Lib Dems are calling for every community to have dedicated community sweepers to clean our roads and paths, and to empty litter bins more frequently. The council need to remove fly tipping quicker and invest more in enforcement.

2. Pilot an alternative to the red and blue sacks

Lib Dems are demanding the council pilot an alternative recycling method to the red and blue sacks. Litter easily escapes the sacks, vermin can get in and they need to be stored inside. We need to look at other options.

3. Community skips and recycling centres

Lib Dems want to make it easier for people to access recycling centres without booking online and bring back community skips.

Please sign the petition below and support the campaign.

Clean Up Cardiff

I/we, the undersigned, call upon Cardiff Council to take the following actions to clean up our city. 1. Bring back community sweepers, install more litter bins and remove fly tipping quicker. 2. Pilot an alternative to the red and blue sacks 3. Bring back community skips and make it easier to access the recycling centres.
