Fix our crumbling hospital
Cardiff’s main hospital, the University Hospital of Wales, is falling into dangerous disrepair under the watch of the Welsh Labour Government. Councillor Rodney Berman, lead Welsh Liberal Democrat Senedd candidate for Caerdydd Ffynnon Taf, is fighting to get buildings repaired and deliver the long-promised rebuild.
Sewage and water leaks, heating and water supply breakdowns, and even pigeons in clinical areas show how badly the buildings have been allowed to deteriorate. Staff warn parts of the hospital are now “literally crumbling”. The situation seems no longer safe.
In 2021, Labour talked about planning to rebuild the Heath Hospital — but today they can’t even tell us if the rebuild is happening at all. Cardiff deserves a safe, modern hospital — not more delay, excuses and neglect after decades of Labour running our NHS.

Fix our crumbling hospital
I/we, the undersigned, are concerned about the worsening condition of the buildings at Cardiff’s University Hospital of Wales (also known as the Heath Hospital) and call on the Welsh Government and Cardiff & Vale University Health Board to urgently bring forward a clear plan to deliver a safe, modern hospital.
